Xellux Translate is the translation app of Xellux. Every text of your website and your app lives as a key in one database, with context, placeholders and a status. AI translates it in the tone of your identity and with the address form you set per language.
Only what you approved is published. Every approval lands in an immutable release; your site fetches it as a file at build time and needs Xellux no longer. Legal texts such as imprint, terms and privacy never go out automatically. Translate is part of every Xellux subscription, Start included. AI drafts run on your own Anthropic key.
Seven reasons for Xellux Translate.
Translates in your voice
The tone comes from your identity. You set the address form per language: du or Sie, tu or vous, sen or siz. Plus a glossary and terms that are never translated.
One database for website and app
Both take their texts from the same release, as one JSON file per language, nested for next-intl or flat. Booking pages, emails and the chatbot in Xellux are coming.
Drop-in for next-intl
With ICU, static, no runtime dependency. The release comes as one messages file per language, and your site keeps reading its own files.
AI proposes, you approve
Every text has an audit log: who checked and approved it, and when.
No lock-in
Export as JSON, XLIFF, TMX or CSV. Your site keeps working without Xellux.
Legal texts stay protected
Imprint, terms and privacy texts are never published automatically.
No price per word
The languages come with your subscription. AI drafts run on your own Anthropic key, with no markup.
next-intl stays as it is.
You upload your messages files in the app, AI drafts the other languages, and you approve. Every release sits at a fixed address as one JSON file per language, in exactly the nested shape next-intl reads, with ICU for plurals and placeholders.
Your build fetches the files from there, or you keep them in your repository. Your request.ts and your components stay as they are, and at runtime your site loads nothing from Xellux. A command line with push and pull is coming.
curl -fo messages/fr.json \ https://xellux.com/app/api/public/translate/<project>/latest/fr/messages.jsonFrom code to release.
1. Upload the texts
You upload your messages files in the app. Every key gets context, placeholders, a length limit and, where needed, the legal tag.
2. AI translates
In the tone of your identity, with your address form per language and your glossary. A check finds broken placeholders, ICU errors, texts that are too long and a wrong address form.
3. Check and approve
You see every draft next to its source and approve it. Who checked what and when stands in the audit log.
4. Pull the release
Approvals land in a release with a content hash of its own. Your build fetches it as one JSON file per language.

Vendors' list prices on 27 Oct 2026, monthly billing, per vendor the plan it marks itself (marker in quotes). Dollar prices at the ECB reference rate of that day, €1 = $1.1150. Locize, Localazy and SimpleLocalize state no tax basis on their pricing page, Weglot excl. VAT. Xellux net.
Units are not the same: vendors count words, keys and characters differently. Weglot names one total, Locize counts per language.
Left out for lack of a marker of their own or of a monthly price: Lokalise, Phrase, Crowdin, Tolgee, ConveyThis. Trademarks belong to their owners.
What Xellux Translate is not.
- No translation agency: Xellux does not place human translators.
- No live translator that rewrites other sites: Translate delivers files, your site builds them in.
- No command line yet: push, pull and the edit mode right on the page are coming. Until then everything runs in the app and through the releases' JSON files.
Translate comes with every subscription.
Start costs €0 with 2 languages. Solo costs €39 a month net with 3 languages and every app, Team €129 with every language and five people.
Questions about Translate.
Xellux
You: What does Xellux Translate cost?
Xellux: It is part of every subscription: Start (€0) with 2 languages, Solo (€39) with 3, Team (€129) with every language. There is no price per word. AI drafts run on your own Anthropic key.
You: Do I have to replace next-intl?
Xellux: No. next-intl stays the engine. Your build fetches the approved messages files as JSON, and your site reads them as before, with no runtime dependency on Xellux.
You: What happens if I cancel?
Xellux: Your site keeps working, because it reads the texts from its own files. Before you go, fetch the last release as JSON and export everything as XLIFF, TMX or CSV.
You: How does the AI keep du and Sie apart?
Xellux: You set the address form per language, for example du in German, tu in French and sen in Turkish. A check reports every slip before a text is approved.
You: Are imprint and terms translated too?
Xellux: Translated yes, published automatically never. Texts with the legal tag are always approved by you.
You: Do I need my own AI key?
Xellux: For AI drafts, yes: they run on your own AI key from Anthropic, and Anthropic bills you directly. Without a key you translate yourself or import XLIFF, TMX or CSV; approval and releases work the same way.
